They’re gorgeous, Jane! I wish bearded Iris were half as happy in my garden.

    1. Jane says:

Thanks, Kris. They do well here as they appear before the real heat sets in.

  3. All decked out in their finery.

    1. Jane says:

      Indeed! Ephemeral, but effective.

  4. The seductive ladies trying to take attention away from the forget me nots.

    1. Jane says:

And they succeeded, being much more apparent and flamboyant!

  5. What beautiful flowers. It makes me think that I don’t really have gentle, subtle colours in my garden.

    1. Jane says:

Thank you, Granny. I can’t take responsibility for choosing the colour as they were castoffs from another garden, they are certainly very pretty.

A quite delightful description. I seem to have missed you on ‘Reader’ or have you been on a blog holiday?

    1. Jane says:

Thank you, John. I haven’t been on a blog holiday, but simply felt I didn’t have much to say and only published a few posts in the last three months.

  7. They are such pretty colors and so many are blooming at once.

    1. Jane says:

Thank you. Yes it’s a productive clump.

    1. Jane says:

      Thank you! 😊

  8. I love your poetry, Jane. Those bearded irises really have perfected the flounce.
Wasn’t it hot yesterday? Now for the spring rush.

    1. Jane says:

Thank you, Tracy. I should have written the text in lines, but I didn’t think of that! Mr MG is the poet in the family! The weather in Mudgee has been glorious with just the right amount of rain. So far.

    Wonderful, are you channeling Vita??

    1. Jane says:

I wasn’t, actually. I’m more a Piet Oudolf fan, although I don’t know that he uses irises. I do like a crammed border, so that is my aim.

Haha – they are the PERFECT 19th century flower – ruffles and all!
